In our Media Studies, class for our first quiz, instead of a normal, bubble the right answer, or a few essay questions, we were given a task to make a mini movie using 15 photos and an explanation on each of them like what it signifies and why we used a specific shot.
Our first task was to draw up what would be in each of the 15 photos and what shot type we would use but of course, we had to decide on the story first. We were allowed to work with one partner and my first plan was to do something like the movie "Fall" where a girl climbs up a tall tower with her friend. My partner however didn't know the story and after a few other thoughts, we landed on a remake of "David and Goliath", a biblical story with our little twist. We decided on a school fight story over a girl where a big jock which we portrayed through a water bottle, and a smaller student who was after the same girl as him which we made a hand sanitizer bottle.
Then we got to work on the assignment where 10 of our 15 shots had to be a specific type and the other 5 were our choice so we made those 10 a priority. We tried adding as much story as we could but we found it hard without being able to express emotions through words or body language as we only had a few bottles to tell a story. After we had taken the photos and written down the planning sheet we went back to class and started our presentation which was cut short and left for later as the bell rang.
I and my partner finished the quiz/project the day after by uploading the photos we took, mixing them with the planning paper, and finally finishing the assignment.
